Chef Drikus Brink, along with South African food personality Errieda du Toit, is presenting a Cape heritage small plates menu at Geuwels this September. It includes a variety of heritage dishes inspired by Erried's cookbook SAAM. Expect dishes like Marmite and Huguenot cheese tart, shaved pickled ox tongue with sweet mustard, venison bobotie jaffle, Vergenoegd uitpakslaai, chutney chicken bake... Perfect for sharing among friends! Paired with Vergenoegd Löw’s elegant wines, this is not to be missed.

Kleine Zalze's heritage-themed Sunday lunch

Babylonstoren's boerewors, droëwors and frikadelle workshop

Nothing beats making your own boerewors and delicious frikkadelle from scratch. In this workshop at the state-of-the-art Meat Room at Babylonstoren's Soetmelksvlei, master butcher Jaco Koegelenberg will teach guests how to make traditional boerewors, droëwors, and meat balls. He will first demonstrate the process and then, under hiss guidance, guests will make their own boerewors and frikkadelle. Afterwards, guests will enjoy a hearty lunch in the Old Stables Restaurant.
