Heritage Bistro & Wine Weekend

Join Mellasat Vineyards on the weekend of the 21st – 24th September 2019 for our Bistro & Wine weekend.

The Bistro menu is available from 11:00 – 16:00 on Saturday and Monday and from 11:00 – 14:30 on Sunday and Tuesday (Heritage Day).

The first Bistro weekend that was held during August was a huge success and we only had great reviews on our menu and wines.

The menu still includes some of our popular burgers, but we’ve incorporated other dishes to tantalize your taste buds. Prices start from R65.00. A kiddie is menu is also available. Since Heritage Day is in September, our chef planned the menu around traditional South African dishes.

For the sweet tooth we have a nice selection of desserts.

New release of our Dekker’s Valley Shiraz and Shiraz Rosé

Shiraz 2016

We recently released the new vintage of out Dekker’s Valley Shiraz 2016. The 2015 was extremely popular and sold out quite fast.

The 2016 was a softer year and we find the red were more feminine in structure than masculine like the 2015. The 2016 Shiraz has nice structure, soft tannins and is filled with cherries, mulberries and fruit cake notes, with hints of pepper and spice. The wine was matured in older French oak barrels for 22 months. It is the perfect wine for the cooler nights but will be wonderful during spring and summer with a braai.

The cellar door price is R85.00 per bottle.

Shiraz Rosé 2018

The last of the 2017 Shiraz Rosé was reaped up by our German importer! The 2018 Shiraz Rosé is pale salmon colour and the strawberry and cream flavours jumps out of the glass. It is going to be a dangerous wine this coming spring and summer. At only R65.00 per bottle it represents great value.

Visit our tasting room to taste two winners in our Dekker’s Valley Range.
