The latest vintage releases from Mellasat Vineyards

We are excited to release our Mellasat Tempranillo 2015 and the Dekker’s Valley Revelation 2014!

Revelation 2014

The Dekker’s Valley Revelation 2014 is available at the tasting room.  This wine is unique in that, for the first time, it contains 13% Tempranillo! The rest of the blend is 52% Cabernet Sauvignon an 35% Shiraz. With only 2300 bottles we expect this wine to go fast, so visit us and taste another winner.

The components of the wine spent 18 months in older French oak barrels. The wine is filled with blackcurrant and balanced spiciness. The Tempranillo gives it a nice marinated cherry lift.

Tempranillo 2015

Our latest vintage of Tempranillo is available again, having been bottled in October 2016. We would normally keep the wine in bottle for one year, however the interest in this wine is so big that we decided to make it available a bit earlier than usual.

The 2015 is the second vintage that is 100% Tempranillo. The wine was matured in a combination of American and French oak barrels for 18 months. The nose gives cigar box aroma leading to cherry and blackberry on the palate. The wine is very soft on the palate with velvet tannins and a balanced structure that will lead to good development for several years to come.
