January "Bin End" Sale!!!

The "Summer" Pop-Up Restaurant, will soon be upon us!!!!

Mellasat Vineyards is known as the “home of the White Pinotage” for creating the world’s first white wine out of South Africa’s own grape variety. Another first was our seasonal pop-up restaurant which only appears four times per year, the first one being “Spring” in November 2013.

Freshly prepared by international chef Janet Richardson, the “Summer” season will use local and seasonal ingredients specifically sourced for our inventive menu. Wine will be at cellar door prices and not inflated as is normally the case in restaurants. Tables will be limited so we expect bookings to be keen so don’t miss out! The opening times for the Restaurant will be Saturday 31st January for lunch 12:00 till 15:00 and dinner from 18:30 till 21:30 and for Sunday 1st February lunch only from 12:00 till 15:30.

For reservations and enquiries contact Mellasat Vineyards on 021 862 4525 or send an email to tanya@mellasat.com

The New Year is here but it looks like the harvest will be earlier than usual!

With a successful 2014 now behind us, it's all eyes forward to the harvest of 2015, and this year it appears that the vintage will be in full swing earlier than expected!!

We are looking to start harvesting our Chardonnay and the first batch of White Pinotage in the last week of January as the grapes are almost ready to be hand picked by our experienced team. We are confident that this year's vintage will be just as exquisite as the previous year or, if I may say so, even better.

Visit us on the farm during harvest and maybe you can twist the winemaker or the cellar assistants' arms to give you a peek view of what happens in the cellar at this time of the year.......................as long as they don't have anything top secret up their sleeves!!
