Pinotage & Biltong Festival - Leriba Hotel, Centurion

Join us on 13th and 14th October for the Pinotage and Biltong Festival, at Leriba Hotel, Centurion from 11:00 – 17:00. This is the second year that the festival takes place in Gauteng and it promises to be a fun filled weekend.

Pinotage wines will be paired with a range of spiced biltong and droëwors made by Billa B & Co Biltong Deli. This year you will be able to taste our White Pinotage 2017 paired with Biltong. Come and visit us and taste the perfect Biltong pairing!

Mellasat’s White Pinotage, together with other producer’s red Pinotage, rosé, bubblies and blends, will be available for tasting and can also be purchased at the event.

The festival concept offers visitors a “Pinotage & Biltong Pairing Card & Tasting Map” which takes participants on a fun “festival route” to discover new Pinotage styles paired with curated biltong and droë wors flavours.

The dress code for the festival is Purple and white.  There are prizes for the best-dressed!

Visitors can buy wine to enjoy with the variety of food that is available, or to take home.  There will be runners with trollies available to convey wine to vehicles.

Mellasat ‘Spring’ Pop-Up Restaurant

With spring in the air we anticipate fresh new flavours and exquisite techniques to accompany this new style menu. The four course meal will be priced at R425 per person. The Mellasat and Dekker’s Valley Range of wines will be available at normal cellar door prices, and our sommelier will be able to assist you in choosing the wine to enjoy with your meal.

Opening times for the Restaurant will be Sunday 30th September lunch from 12:00 till 15:00. 
Please let us know in advance if you have any dietary requirements we must cater for. Tables will be limited, and we already have repeat bookings from the previous season, especially for the Sunday, so please don’t miss out on this unique opportunity!

Mellasat ‘Spring’ Pop-Up Restaurant

Mellasat Vineyards’ White Pinotage 2015 is one of three favourites in France!

The “L’Heure d’Après” (meaning “after hours”) event takes place every first Friday of the month after closing time at La Cité du Vin in Bordeaux, France. The mediators choose their favourite wines and three wines are chosen from different terroirs.

Visitors are offered wines from a wide selection not only from Bordeaux but also the world. The presenters guide the visitors in discovering the wines, the beautiful landscapes and the terroir.

The White Pinotage is barrel-fermented in Romanian oak and matured for 11 months. The 2015 vintage had a total of 13% new wood. The wine is dry and delicate with underlying tropical fruits notes with a crisp freshness. The creaminess and nutty flavours support the fruit notes.

The 2015 White Pinotage received a Silver Medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards in 2016. Although sold out at the farm, the 2017 is now available. Mellasat Vineyards was the first winery in the world to produce a White Pinotage in 2007. If you haven’t tasted a White Pinotage before, visit the Home of the White Pinotage.
